The Community
Planning Department represents the public interest by promoting systematic deliberation regarding the development
of Kennewick. This is achieved by: meaningful public participation; encouraging economic development; designating
appropriate land uses within the urban area; coordinating infrastructure and utilities; implementing design standards for Kennewick's
physical development; conforming with
Washington State's Growth Management Act; and advising elected and
appointed officials with the immediate and long term consequences

Development Services offers regulatory assistance for residential, commercial, industrial and other development projects within Kennewick. Assistance can be obtained for zoning, land use applications and SEPA information, and along with other departments, an effort to provide "One-Stop" permitting includes everything from installing a fence to major commercial developments.
