Crime Prevention
Michael R. Blatman, CPP (509) 582-1351
Crime Prevention is defined as “ the anticipation, recognition and appraisal of a crime risk and the taking of some affirmative action to remove or reduce that risk.” Crime Prevention is not possible without the entire community taking an active role in the prevention of crime.
Kennewick Police Crime Prevention works with the community in providing information that is timely and useful in removing or reducing the threat of crime. Crime Prevention activity is divided into several activities; Residential Security, Commercial Security, False Alarm Enforcement, Alternative Reporting of Shoplifters, Tri Cities Crime Stoppers, School Safety and other Crime Prevention programs.
